Phillies Success Has Inspired A Red Beer
The Delaware Valley is changing colors! Get ready because The Phillies success has inspired a red beer.
Green beer is the tradition we are all familiar with. The tradition always takes place around St. Patrick’s day as bars around the world dye their beer lines the traditional green color.
So, the Phillies World Series run and their commitment to Red October will a brew turn into a new color?…red?
According to NBC10 “McGillin’s Olde Ale House, located on 1310 Drury Street between Chestnut and Sansom and 13th and Juniper, will serve red beer in honor of the Phillies, starting Wednesday at 11 a.m. ”
Additionally, they go onto say “McGillin’s has served green beer (for the Eagles and for St. Patrick’s Day) and blue beer (for Villanova) but in its 162 years, the historic tavern has NEVER served RED BEER — until today,” a spokesperson wrote.
McGillin’s is Philadelphia’s oldest bar! The pub opened 23 years before the Phightin’ Phils were even a team. The historic spot opened it’s doors in 1860.
