Philadelphia Phillies: These Photos Capture the Magic

We’re still buzzing over the 2022 Philadelphia Phillies going to the World Series. Game one is Friday (Oct. 28) at 8:03 p.m. up against the Astros.

This is the first time the Phillies are heading to the World Series since 2009, so it’s a long time coming. Of course, Philadelphia went insane on Sunday evening, with fans taking over the streets and light poles to celebrate the monumental news.

Here are some of our favorite photos from Sunday’s game and the subsequent victory celebration when the world learned the Phillies were going to the World Series. Now, all we need is for the Eagles to go to the Super Bowl, and that’ll make this season one of the most legendary in Philadelphia sports history. Heck, it’s already legendary, though. Big congrats to the Phillies. The Astros better watch out.

By the way, here are some fun facts. The Houston Astros and Philadelphia Phillies are going up against each other in the World Series for the first time. The Phillies are 9-2 so far in this postseason. They haven’t trailed in three series and haven’t faced elimination. That’s amazing, but the Astros have gone a perfect 7-0. Finally, Phillies pitcher Aaron Nola and Astros third baseman Alex Bregman both went to LSU- and they were tight. The guys were in college at the same time and were actually roommates. I can’t imagine the rivalry going on there- and the trash talk. Go Phillies!
