A new study examined over 6.1 million cars on the road to determine the share for each color. White is the nation’s most popular color, making up over a quarter of cars, followed by black, gray, and silver.
White is the most popular car color in the country followed by black, gray, silver, and blue respectively. The study says the 25.8% of cars on the road are white in color.
The study says ‘Grayscale-colored cars (white, black, gray, and silver) account for 78.5 percent of all vehicles on the road. White is the most popular car color for car buyers , accounting for 25.8 percent of all vehicles. “White’s popularity can be attributed to it being one of the easiest colors to maintain, and because it is a common color for fleet and rental vehicles, white is prevalent in the used car market.”‘
The remaining colors include brown, green, beige, orange, gold, yellow, and purple. Combined, these colors account for just 3.3 percent of cars on the road.
Delaware’s top color that isn’t grayscale is blue.
West Virginia has the most colorful cars on the road. The least colorful car state is surprisingly California.
Delaware was ranked as the 15th most colorful state when it comes to cars. The study says 24% of the cars on the road in the first state are a color other than grayscale.
The most colorful city in the country when it comes to cars is just a short drive away in the Harrisburg-Lancaster-York, PA are.
