Is Wordle still a thing? Has the craze lost it’s steam? If you’re still playing Wordle religiously and want to up your game, bots suggest guessing a particular word first.
When Wordle first arrived, everyone was trying to find ways to beat their best record. Words like ABOUT, ADIEU, and IRATE were suggested as the best words to guess first. Mathematically these words should increase your chances of guessing the correct word because of how many vowels they include.
The New York Times ‘WordleBot’ was introduced back in April not long after they bought the game rights from its original creator Josh Wardle. WordleBot is a way to help players analyze their progress and assess their skill. It has been updated recently to provide users with this new recommended starting word.
The Bot also now has its own dictionary of around 4,500 words that are likely to be used by players. The word SLATE falls at the top of that list as the optimal starting word.
Other words that are still recommended as great starting words are SHORT and POISE.
