Christina School District Mask Mandate Back In Effect
The Christina School District has implemented the mask mandate for this coming school year. Regardless of vaccination status, all students, teachers and staff must wear masks inside school buildings.
The district is also offering the option for any student to continue attending school virtually. This decision comes after the recent increase in Covid-19 cases.
Masks were not necessarily regulated during the summer school sessions, but things seem to change on a day-to-day or even hourly basis. The board and dean felt it best to re-implement the mask mandate, claiming no issues during last school year amongst the students.
While many local families have been struggling since the pandemic, the school district has taken several steps to help support its students. Their goal is to keep their students and staff safe and well taken care of, according to Dean Ivory.
The Free and Affordable Meal Plan is also available once again. This school year, parents can enroll for the program and receive benefits based on eligibility. If they fall within a certain income bracket, their child can receive free or discounted meals while at school.
