Pride month won’t be here again until next June, but that doesn’t mean we have to stop celebrating Pride! If you like to bowl, Pride bowling is held on the third Saturday of every month at Bowlerama Family Entertainment Bowling Center. The earliest form of bowling known to exist has been traced back to ancient Egyptian time, around 5,000 BC. That early form of bowling consisted of rolling stones at various objects with the goal of knocking them over. Over time, new versions of bowling emerged from this Ancient Egyptian game.
Places across the country may have different Pride schedules, but most Pride celebrations, parades, and marches take place in June to mark the anniversary of the Stonewall Riots. However, it’s important love throughout the year! Allies and members of the LGBTQ+ community are welcome to come together at this event. We have Delaware Pride Festival to look forward to which will be held on October 2nd.
This is a great way to socialize and make new friends now that we have overcome the pandemic. Held from 7pm-9pm, the $15 reservation fee includes shoe rental and two hours of bowling. This event is open to all ages, all skill levels (beginner to experienced) and all sexual orientations! Families are encouraged! Bumper lanes will be available. The Bowling center is located at 3031 New Castle Ave New Castle, DE 19720. Check out their Facebook page here!
