Gov. Carney Loosens Delaware Restrictions For Outdoor Gatherings
On Monday (March 29th, 2021) Governor Carney raised the allowance for outdoor gatherings to 150 people. This will allow for weddings, parades, festivals, concerts, fundraiser, funerals, and anything else of the sort. If an outdoor venue has more than 100,000 square feet and a fire code capacity can submit their plans for hosting events with up to 150 people. There will be a 75% capacity limit. If a venue doesn’t meet the requirement of 100,000 square feet they will still be able to operate at 50% capacity.
According to DelawarePublicHealth.org, restrictions will remain the same for indoor venues. Restaurants and other indoor businesses will remain at 50% of their fire code capacity. Wearing a mask and social distancing guidelines will remain in place until enough people are vaccinated. These new rules will go into effect starting Thursday April 1st.
