University of Delaware and Howard University Marching Bands Will Perform at Inauguration of President-Elect Joe Biden

“The University of Delaware and Howard University marching bands will be performing at the inauguration of President – elect Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris” as reported by Fox 5. 

The performance by Howard University should hit close to home for Vice President Kamala Harris, as she was one of their own alumni. The same HBCU marching band of Howard University had performed at Barack Obama’s first inauguration in 2009.

Howard University’s President, Wayne A.I. Frederick stated, “it is our esteemed honor to be involved in the historic inauguration of President elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris.

According to udel.edu, “the Drumline Battery of the University of Delaware Fightin’ Blue Hen Marching Band (UDMB) will represent UD and the state in the Presidential escort for UD alumnus Joseph R. Biden, Jr. after his swearing in as the 46th President of the United States on Jan. 20 in Washington, D.C.”
