If you’ve been having a hard time finding canned pumpkins, you are not alone. In fact, you can even blame it on the weather this year. According to AllRecipes.com we don’t actually have a pumpkin shortage. What’s happened is that a rain delay meant that pumpkin seeds were planted later in the year than usual. It is also quite possible that due to COVID, shoppers decided to start their baking with pumpkin a little earlier this year. Now, all the canned pumpkin, pumpkin puree, and pumpkin pie mix have already been taken by those who decided to get a head start. Farmers are currently working hard to make sure these products are back on the shelf soon and you can expect plenty of pumpkin still coming for Thanksgiving and Halloween.
