It’s the first year that fireworks are legally allowed to be used in Philadelphia, and the city has received nearly 1,000 complaints.
It’s probably because more people are home and bored, but it seems that fireworks are definitely on the rise, and not only in Philadelphia. I live in South Jersey and just last night, there were a series of loud boomers around 9:30pm.
However the problem seems to be just that in Philadelphia.. a problem. As well as up and down the east coast. Washington D.C. and Boston are both experiencing the same issue.
People with pets, children and even Veterans can be severely affected by unscheduled fireworks. When it’s July 4th, you can prepare yourself for the loud booms, but unscheduled booms every night can become somewhat overwhelming.
Just something to keep in mind next time you go to set off a firecracker 🙂
Fireworks are illegal in Delaware and New Jersey.
