Lil Nas X On Coming Out And It Overshadowing His Career
Lil Nas X had a wildly successful 2019 thanks to his hit “Old Town Road,” and in the middle of his whirlwind success, he announced that he was gay. Now he is revealing that at the time he worried it would overshadow his career.
He tells People, “There’s always that fear that something will overshadow your career. But it’s all depending on what you decide to do. So you just work harder to make sure that it doesn’t and just keep going, I guess.” He also talks about the support he’s received from fans and celebrities like Ellen Degeneres. “It was pretty incredible,” he says about Ellen. “She’s super cool.”
Lil Nas X about what his plans for 2020 are. “This special year, I want to have my album out and a lot of music videos and I want to do a lot of things in the fashion world. On the personal side, I’m going to work on controlling my emotions better.”
