These artists will perform renditions of Aerosmith’s biggest hits at the gala.
The MusiCares Person of the Year award honors musicians who have made an impact through various philanthropic efforts, as well as their impact on the music industry in general. Past recipients of this honor include Fleetwood Mac, Tom Petty, Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Paul McCarney, Neil Young, Billy Joel and Elton John.
Aerosmith will be presented with this honor on January 24, which falls two days before the 62nd GRAMMY Awards. The gala helps raise funds for the MusiCares program that provides musicians and other music industry professionals assistance when seeking various medical treatments.
In a statement, President/CEO of MusiCares and the Recording Academy Deborah Dugan said, “Aerosmith has walked the walk when it comes to raising funds to impact music people in recovery. It is sure to be an amazing evening.”
