THROWBACK: Lita Ford Performs ‘Close My Eyes Forever’ With Lzzy Hale
Lita Ford celebrates a birthday today (September 19), and it goes without saying that Ford opened the door for a lot of women in rock since breaking out with The Runaways and with her career as a solo artist.
One of those women is Lzzy Hale, so when Ford opened for Halestorm on tour in 2016, most hoped there would be a few on-stage collaborations between the two, and fortunately, we weren’t disappointed.
In honor of Ford’s birthday, check out this awesome performance of “Close My Eyes Forever,” which Ford originally sang with Ozzy Osbourne. Before launching into the track, Ford notes, “I’ve sang this song with so many people, but never a woman as great as Ms. Lzzy Hale [and] never a woman, period.”
What a cool live moment!
