Angelica Ross Will Become First Trans Person To Host A Presidential Forum
Pose‘s Angelica Ross will be making history on an evening where there’s already a ton of history-making that will happen.
Presidential candidates like Joe Biden, Pete Buttigieg, and Elizabeth Warren will take to the stage on Friday, Sept. 20 to debate about LGBTQ+ rights in a unique event hosted by GLAAD, The Advocate, and One Iowa, as Out reports.
The forum centered around LGBTQ+ citizens will allow the Democratic contenders to discuss issues that specifically apply to queer and transgender people, which have been ignored during the first three rounds of presidential debates.
Ross will be moderating the event, as Deadline reported on Monday (Sept. 16). The Pose and American Horror Story star will be gracing the stage alongside GLAAD President and CEO Sarah Kate Ellis.
According to Deadline‘s report, the two will ask the presidential candidates to note “their plan and vision for improving [LGBTQ+] acceptance in a divisive time for marginalized communities.”
Ross said that she was “ready and excited” to be a part of the monumental forum in a Tweet on Monday (Sept. 16). “I’m so READY & excited to be hosting the #LGBTQforum on Friday with @glaad, @OneIowa, @TheAdvocateMag and @gazettedoctcome to ensure that presidential candidates are talking about issues important to LGBTQ voters! Stay tuned!” Ross tweeted.
