Rumor has it that Christian Serratos has just gotten the role of a lifetime as Selena in the new Netflix series.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Serratos, who plays Rosita on The Walking Dead, is in negotiations to play Selena in the two-part limited series. Production for both shows will overlap, so it’s likely that Serratos will have to juggle both schedules.

Selena’s family will develop and executive produce this series.

The Hollywood Reporter says that this Selena series is described as “a coming-of-age story that focuses on the singer, songwriter, model, actress and fashion designer who became one of the most beloved Mexican-American entertainers.”

When previously discussing the series and partnering with Netflix, Selena’s sister Suzette Quintanilla explained that “Selena will always have a lasting place in music history and we feel a great responsibility to do justice to her memory. With this series, viewers will finally get the full history of Selena, our family, and the impact she has had on all of our lives.”

Production for the series will begin in Mexico next month.
