How do you get even the angriest of birds to smile? Play them Kesha’s new song “Best Day.” The sunny summer bop off the Angry Birds 2 soundtrack is a carefree joy bomb that Kesha promises will make everyone’s day better. Can she get a high five and some good vibes for that?
With “Best Day (Angry Birds 2 Remix),” Kesha “wanted to write a song that would make people feel GOOD,” she stated in a press release. “Life can be hard sometimes, and I wanted to write something to listen to in the morning to remind myself to be happy, grateful, positive and remember that I can choose to have the best day of my life (of my life, of my life). Every day.”
From the sounds of this funky track, produced by Ryan Lewis, she succeeded. Co-written by Kesha, this one is all about celebrating life and getting rid of all that negative energy. The song is dedicated to both her friends and her enemies for that very reason.
The song also sends a very pro-high five message, which Kesha would like to see others get behind. “I also think high fives are great,” she said. “and would like to promote high fives whenever possible.”
The Angry Birds Movie 2 hits theaters August 14.
