Are you one to watch TV while you eat? If you’ve answered yes, which 88% of you will, then you’re what is now being considered a “zombie eater.”
You may have noticed their snacks on the shelves – Pretzel Crisps conducted a survey that reported 91% of Americans watch TV while they eat a meal or a snack. 49% of those people admit they do it on a regular basis and don’t think twice about it.
Over the course of each meal, the zombie eater will also glance at their phone at least twice, whether to check social media or text messages.
It’s so easy to get sucked into your phone nowadays, and we never want to miss what’s happening on our favorite show. When it comes to Netflix, let’s face it, the time that it takes to eat dinner could be spent catching up on Stranger Things or Black Mirror.
Did you know the average American only eats three meals at the dining table per week? It has become more common for Americans to stand at the kitchen counter while eating, sit on the couch, sit in bed, or even lie on the floor, rather than actually eating at the table.
