We finally know the real reason the Jonas Brothers broke up.
During an episode of Carpool Karoake on The Late Late Show With James Corden, Nick confessed to breaking up the band, but also added that he brought the reunion to life.
It all started when host James Corden, 40, said “everyone knows it was Nick,” to which Nick replied “I broke the band up, but I got them back together.”
“It’s true, it was a full redemptive story,” Kevin added.
Nick then revealed that the process to reunite began when the brothers came back together for an Amazon Studios documentary. There, they realized there was still magic between them when it comes to music.
“Basically, about a year ago we started talking about making a documentary together. That was the start of it — just to tell our story, our childhood and into our career together. In that process we did some necessary healing, because you know when things ended it wasn’t the best,” Nick said. “There was a magic when we were together that we would all like to feel again.”
From there the brothers tried some unconventional ways to heal whatever bad blood was still there, including drinking games and doing group therapy.
“We’ve had to be really open and honest,” Nick said. “There are things in the past that bothered us from time to time, even in our performances that we would do.”
