BY THE NUMBERS: CCR’s ‘Bayou Country’
Creedence Clearwater Revival’s Bayou Country turns 50 today (January 5) and, thus, starts a yearlong celebration of the band’s incredible three album run in 1969.
The 7-track LP was anchored by “Born On the Bayou” and the hit “Proud Mary,” and while critics weren’t very receptive to the other tracks, the album as a whole served as a stepping stone to CCR’s two other ‘69 offerings: Green River and Willy and the Poor Boys.
