In West Philadelphia, born and raise, Will Smith spent most of his youth perfecting his rap game. He started his journey to fame as the MC to DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince. It wasn’t until 1990 that the well-known movie star we now know today received his first major role.

In honor of Will Smith’s birthday, September 25th, here are 8 of our favorite episodes of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.

Carlton going gangster made us laugh so hard! He was just trying to prove himself to Will! Sadly, he should just stick to his dance moves.

  1. Soooooooul Train

Philip and Vivian were cool enough to be on Soul Train! The whole episode is based around trying to get Phil to go back for a special show.

Philip won a prestigious award, but is too boring in real life. In order to help his favorite Uncle out, Will decides to tell the reporters about his “barnyard life”. Needless to say, it makes him more interesting!

  1. Here Comes the Judge

27 Years. The majority of this scene was improvised from the yelling and crying to the hug. This goes to show that there will never be another sitcom like this one. ❤ #TheFreshPrinceOfBelAir #90s

Will is arrested…for one of the weirdest reasons! He had too many parking tickets.

  1. Father Knows Best

Ashley ditches her private school ways! She decided to try what the “real world” is like and goes to a public school. Apparently, the real world is just enrolling in a private school.
