A Woman is Having Her Friends Bid on a Spot in Her Bridal Party
Unfortunately, you’ve probably dealt with a bridezilla at some point in your life.
Maybe she laid down strict rules about your hair color for the wedding, or she had a meltdown about everyone’s nail polish color. But she can’t be worse than the bride who insisted that her friends bid on a spot in her bridal party.
Her outraged sister took to Reddit to vent, explaining, “Whichever six of all these chicks bid the most will be the bridesmaids. There’s also an auction for being her maid of honor. My sister and her fiancé are using the money to fund the wedding and honeymoon.”
Surprisingly, people have actually begun bidding. The poster notes that most of those who have tossed money in to try to earn a spot aren’t actually close to the bride, and that now her wife-to-be sister is upset that she hasn’t yet bid for her spot as a bridesmaid. She writes, “Now my sister is throwing a tantrum that I haven’t RSVPed to the ‘auction,’ and got our mom on her side too. My mom says I will ‘look bad’ if I don’t put in a bid when it’s my own sister and called me selfish.”
Considering it typically costs about $1,500 to be a bridesmaid, it’s pretty incredible that this person actually got people to fork over money just for a chance to earn a spot in the bridal party to begin with! Good luck to everyone who has entered the bidding war. We hope the dresses chosen for you are flattering and that the open bar at the reception is plentiful.
