Ronnie From ‘Jersey Shore’ Arrested On Domestic Violence Allegation
Jersey Shore star Ronnie Ortiz-Magro was arrested yesterday in California for investigation of felony domestic violence.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Ortiz-Magro was arrested in the coastal Playa del Rey section of Los Angeles.
Law enforcement said 35-year-old Ortiz-Magro was arrested on suspicion of violating a California law covering violence against intimate partners. No other details were given. Scott E. Leemon and Leonard Levine, Ortiz-Magro’s attorneys, said they have just learned of the new allegation and need time to investigate before they can comment.
He was previously arrested on suspicion of domestic violence in 2019.
Ronnie was charged with five misdemeanors in 2019 for striking ex-girlfriend Jen Harley, chasing her with a knife, then tased and handcuffed by police. All of which happened in front of the couple’s 18-month-old baby daughter, Ariana. Allegedly, Ronnie was holding their child when the incident happened. He got charged with one count of domestic violence, one count of brandishing a weapon, one count of child endangerment, one count of resisting arrest, and one count of criminal threats. None of the charges were felonies.
The former couple had an on-again-off-again relationship that got violent on several occasions. Just twelve hours before this incident, Ronnie and Jen were seen hand-in-hand in Beverly Hills.
Last year, Ortiz-Magro pleaded no contest to domestic battery and resisting arrest. He remains on probation from that case.
The Jersey Shore original castmate appeared on the MTV series from 2009 to 2012. He most recently appeared on its spinoff series, Jersey Shore: Family Vacation, airing since 2018.
