There’s A Restaurant Requiring Guests Take A $50 On-Site COVID-19 Test Before Dining
A New York restaurant is taking drastic measures to ensure their guests stay healthy and coronavirus free. Per the New York Post, City Winery in the Meatpacking District of New York will require guests to pre-pay $50 a person for a COVID-19 test when they make an online reservation to eat inside.
When guests arrive to eat, a health professional will administer the test, and they will have to wait 10-15 minutes for results. If the test is negative, they can go in and eat. If it’s positive, they must leave, and they will get results verified by a lab.
This will be for Tuesdays and Wednesdays. The venue will be test-free on other days, and they will offer outdoor dining.
In a statement about their decision to test customers, the company’s CEO states, “Given the change of the seasons, finding the next level of safety and comfort level for people to dine indoors is critical for us today. A COVID-19 test is one of the only solutions to get patrons inside restaurants for the next five months until the springtime.”
