‘Friends’ Reunion Will Resume Shooting In August
As we reported, the long-awaited Friends reunion was put to a halt due to the coronavirus pandemic. But now, plans to get the show going are moving forward.
Per the New York Times, Friends co-creator Marta Kauffman has announced the show will start shooting this summer. In a recent interview, she said, “We are hoping to be able to shoot in August, if all is well and there is no early second wave and the studio is open.” All six main cast members are expected to return.
Marta Kauffman recently made headlines when she stated she had regret over the lack of diversity on the hit show. She said, “I wish I knew then what I knew today, I would have made very different decisions.”
She added, “We’ve always encouraged people of diversity in our company, but I didn’t do enough. Now all I can think about is what can I do, what can I do differently. How can I run my show in a new way? That’s something I wish I knew when I started showrunning.”
