The Playhouse on Rodney Square is bringing four hit musicals to its upcoming Broadway in Wilmington season. Together, these shows have racked up 20 Tony Awards.

"We are thrilled to continue to bring the absolute best of Broadway here to Wilmington," said Daniel Palmieri to 6ABC.

Kicking off the season, "Mrs. Doubtfire" runs September 26-28, 2025. This musical tells the story of "an out-of-work actor who will do anything for his kids," according to Palmieri.

The nine-time Tony winner "The Book of Mormon" hits the stage March 27-29, 2026. While not kid-friendly, adults will love this witty, satirical show.

Next spring brings Cyndi Lauper's "Kinky Boots" from May 8-10, 2026. The classic "The Music Man" makes its way back to Wilmington June 5-7, 2026, for the first time in 65 years.

Season tickets start at $145, and members get 20% off regular prices plus free parking. Individual show tickets go on sale next summer.

Right next to Hotel DuPont, the 112-year-old theater now houses two new restaurants - Le Cavalier and Casa Nonna. The Stage Door Pass offers special deals at restaurants nearby.

The theater is just a quick 30-minute train ride from Philadelphia, with both Amtrak and SEPTA running routes there. Bank of America sponsors this lineup of shows.

As this season wraps up, "Dear Evan Hansen" opens April 11, 2025.
