The NFL team is looking for talented performers for its mixed-gender squad – people who can entertain at games while also representing the team at community events. Team members pump up fans at Lincoln Financial Field and help support causes like the Eagles Autism Foundation.
The Philadelphia Eagles Cheerleaders celebrated 76 years in 2024, following last year’s anniversary celebration. The group started as the Eaglettes in ’48, then became the Liberty Belles in the 70s before getting its current name in the 80s.
Instead of the traditional Kimmel Center auditions, the selection process has moved online. Fans can tune in to watch the final round live on the Eagles’ website.
Kyle Tanguay made history in 2019 as the first male member in recent years. He performed every routine with his fellow cheerleaders, opening new doors for the team.
Those chosen join a select group that reaches around the globe. These team representatives travel overseas to lift spirits at U.S. military bases abroad.
The current squad balances game-day shows with community service. They inspire young fans while supporting local Philadelphia charities.
Anyone interested in trying out can find all the information on the Eagles’ website. Staff will begin reviewing applications when mid-April arrives.
