Delaware Resident’s First Home Search Featured in Latest HGTV ‘House Hunters’ Episode
“House Hunters” on HGTV airs a new Delaware episode titled “Settling Down in Delaware” this Saturday at 10 p.m., marking another chapter in the show’s 253rd season.
The show follows first-time buyer Gabby as she looks for modern townhomes in Smyrna. Her parents came from Puerto Rico to help with her search. Due to strict privacy rules, HGTV keeps last names private and doesn’t take media questions.
This episode adds to Delaware’s recent TV real estate spotlight. Just weeks ago in January 2024, viewers watched a Bear couple pick up a $482,000 Townsend home. Back in August, a young 25-year-old bought a place in Wilmington for $310,000.
Following its familiar format, cameras follow Gabby through three possible homes. The story plays out as she makes her decision while getting honest input from her family.
It’s not Delaware’s first time on HGTV’s radar. Four years ago, they filmed a Brandywine Hundred couple who bought with help from their old friend who became their real estate agent.
Since its 1999 launch, “House Hunters” has shown Delaware several times. Each episode shows real buyers working through tough decisions to find their dream home.
This weekend’s show joins thousands of episodes in the series’ collection. Throughout it all, viewers see how different people handle home buying across various cities and price ranges.
