Ring in the New Year With Dozens of January Events in Philadelphia
As the calendar turns the page to a new year, the Philadelphia area will play host to dozens of winter events worth celebrating in the City of Brotherly Love in early 2025.
It wouldn’t be New Year’s Day in Philadelphia without the annual Mummers Parade. Don’t miss more than 10,000 costumed marchers taking to the streets in this colorful display of Mardi Gras-style pagentry.
The holiday spirit continues through Jan. 5 at Sesame Place in Langhorne for A Very Furry Christmas and Yuletide at Liberty Hill at the Union League of Philadelphia Liberty Hill country club in Lafayette Hill. Shady Brook Farm in Yardley will continue its holiday lights spectacular through Jan. 27. Head to Perkasie for a look at the Festival of Trees at the Pearl S. Buck International House through Jan. 5 and the immersive LumiNature light display at the Philadelphia Zoo through Jan. 5.
Dinosaur enthusiasts can get their thrills at The Greater Philadelphia Expo Center for Jurassic Quest from Jan. 3-5. The “Fabulous Philadelphians” of The Philadelphia Orchestra celebrate their 125th anniversary with an annual Lunar New Year celebration on Friday, Jan. 10, at the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts.
Witness the magic of fire and ice at the annual Fire & Frost Fun event at Peddler’s Village in Lahaska, Bucks County, on Jan. 10-11 and Jan. 17-18. Ardmore Music Hall in Ardmore welcomes guests for the Ardmore Winter Beer Fest on Jan. 11.
The Philadelphia Auto Show returns to the Philadelphia Convention Center Jan. 11-20, while Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square invites visitors to experience its annual Winter Wonder exhibit from Jan. 17 through March 23.
The Martin Luther King Jr. weekend (Jan. 18-20) ushers in several celebrations honoring the civil rights leader, including:
- Special programming at the African American Museum in Philadelphia and the Museum of the American Revolution.
- A community volunteer event with dozens of service projects such as community cleanups, meal distributions, and more.
