National Donut Day
First, let’s get a little background about National Donut Day. Each year the donut holidays falls on the first Friday in June, making this Friday, June 7th National Donut Day here in Delaware. According to National Calendar Day, the origins of the donut date back to World War One and the Salvation Army Lassies, women who baked the donuts and served them to the troops. The lassies were hoping to give the men a sense of home with the fresh baked goods.
