National Donut Day is fast approaching, according to National Day Calendar. So, that makes this the perfect time to tell you about a small shop at the Delaware beaches that is being called one of the best, by Yelp!
National Donut Day
First, let's get a little background about National Donut Day. Each year the donut holidays falls on the first Friday in June, making this Friday, June 7th National Donut Day here in Delaware. According to National Calendar Day, the origins of the donut date back to World War One and the Salvation Army Lassies, women who baked the donuts and served them to the troops. The lassies were hoping to give the men a sense of home with the fresh baked goods.

Since July is National Ice Cream Month, we thought we would find out where Delawareans like to go for their favorite scoop.
We took to Facebook and simply asked, "Where Do You Go In Delaware For Your Favorite Ice Cream?" The response was pretty good. So, why not put a list together to let others know where the locals like to go? We promise we won't tell too many people. Wink, wink. Long lines are no fun when you have a hankering for something sweet.
There were plenty of local shops mentioned in the comments. Delawareans certainly take their Ice Cream seriously, and not just during National Ice Cream Month.
