For millions of Americans, education is a ticket to an overall better future. Here in Delaware schooling is very important, as it is across the country. However, you can be smart as a whip and not be able to spell for anything.
In celebration of National Dictionary Day coming up on the 16th of October, Betway has conducted research on which words people in each state struggle to spell the most. This research is based off of analyzing Google Search Volumes for the most frequently searched for words after the prompt “How to spell”.
Words Delawareans Struggle to Spell
While spelling might not be every Delawareans specialty, some words on this list might surprise you.

After reading the list, there is a definite common theme that Delawareans have forgotten the famous grade school “i before e except after c” rule.
Across the charts, most of these words were common for many various states as well. It can be seen that nationwide, most people still do not know what “bougie” is or how to spell it either.
The most memorable findings from this research is Massachusetts, which is ranked 1st in state education, having their own state name as the second most searched word on “how to spell”.
