Chris Evans Got Married Over The Weekend: Report
Chris Evans attends the premiere of Lionsgate's "Knives Out" at Regency Village Theatre on November 14, 2019 in Westwood, California.
Sorry ladies: Chris Evans might be a married man. Per Page Six, the Captain America actor married Portuguese actress Alba Baptista over the weekend. The couple, who first sparked romance rumors in November 2022, allegedly tied the knot on Saturday (September 9) in an intimate ceremony that took place in Massachusetts at their Boston-area home. A source told Page Six that the details of the couple’s nuptials were “locked down tight” as guests signed NDAs, and their phones were forfeited upon entry.
Evans, 42, and Baptista, 26, invited their closest family and friends to witness the “beautiful” ceremony. The guest list included some of the actor’s Marvel co-stars, including Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, and Jeremy Renner. A source told People last November that Evans and Baptista had been dating for “over a year.” The insider said of their “serious” relationship at the time, “They are in love, and Chris has never been happier. His family and friends all adore her.” Just hours after the news broke, the couple was spotted holding hands during a stroll in Central Park in New York City.
Evans’ Low-Key Relationship With Baptista
While little is known about the low-key couple’s relationship, Evans hasn’t been shy online. Before the actor deactivated his Instagram and Twitter accounts, he left a flirty comment with emojis on Baptista’s Instagram post around the time news broke about their relationship. In February, the Gray Man actor went Instagram-official with the Baptista after posting a series of PDA-filled photos to his Instagram Story in honor of Valentine’s Day. Following that, Evans posted photos on social media of the two going apple-picking, skiing, viewing the Northern Lights together, and even kissing in the car.
Baptista’s roles have included the Netlifx series Warrior Nun, and the film Mrs. Harris Goes To Paris.
The Sexiest Men Alive From The Last 20 Years
Take a stroll through the last 20 years of People‘s Sexiest Men Alive. This year, the award went to Grey’s Anatomy‘s neurosurgeon Derek “McDreamy” Shepherd. The long-awaited title is something we look forward to every year, and this year’s choice has been worth the wait. The actor has never been given the title before, and with nearly 20 years of being television eye candy, the actor told the publication when he first heard the news, “I was completely shocked, and then I started laughing, like, this is a joke, right?” As for how his kids will respond, the Maine native insists they’re just going to make fun of him.
Humble Beginnings
Growing up in Maine, he recalled always having to be moving, so he took up a lot of sports like baseball, soccer, skiing, cycling.” The Ferrari actor had dyslexia, so he didn’t love school, and described himself as a “late bloomer.” In his youth, Dempsey joined a vaudeville troupe and rode a unicycle while juggling.
Now, the key is maturity and wisdom for the Can’t Buy Me Love alum. “You go through cycles of life, so you understand there are going to be high and low moments and what are the most important things. Everything else is a gift.” Despite his heartthrob status over the years, “I’m glad it’s happening at this point in my life,” he says of his new title.
