Salesianum Receives $10 Million Donation From Honorary Graduate
When I think back to my high school days, I can’t imagine having the kinds of resources that are available today. So many things have changed over the years.
The same goes for some of the most distinguished schools in our area. Some of our local schools have dedicated their efforts to providing the absolute best for their students.
Salesianum School is no exception.
According to their website, Salesianum honorary alumnus Anthony Fusco, has been making regular donations to the school.
The Tony Fusco and the Anthony & Catherine Fusco Charitable Foundation have donated toward upporting financial aid, the Salesianum School endowment, and capital projects at Salesianum.
Most recently, the $10,000,000 donation will support the Fusco Athletic Center.
The Fusco Fields complex will feature a multi-tiered sports complex that replaces the existing patchwork of natural grass practice fields with state-of-the-art turf fields for both practice and competition.
The complex will cover 250,000 square feet elevating the school’s athletic facilities.
This will offer the opportunity for more teams to be able to practice simultaneously.
Anthony N. Fusco Sr., an honorary member of the Class of 2014, has announced a historic $10 million gift to upgrade the our athletics fields. The gift will create a new multi-tiered sports complex with turf fields. Thank you for your gift! Read more: https://t.co/S383vJdzJY.

When Tony Fusco was discussing the donation, he said “I think Sallies does things the right way. I tell people all the time that I wish I had gone to Sallies. But for me, this is the next best thing: to make sure that other kids can go and that when they do, it’s an experience that gives them the tools to be who they are and be that well.”
That’s a strong recommendation from someone who didn’t attend the school. Sally’s has proven time and time again just how great of an institution they are.
Most recently, Amanda Matarese, French teacher and EdTech Coach, had been accepted into the Apple Distinguished Educator Class of 2023. In addition, senior classman Tobi Taiwo received the Eugene du Pont Scholarship from the University of Delaware.
Check the school’s website for more info on the newest donation and progress on the field.
