Delaware Marijuana Legalization Has Been Delayed for Further Review
The bill aiming to legalize recreational marijuana in Delaware has been put on hold. Sponsor Ed Osienski (D-Newark) believes the bill needs more time for review before actually moving to the House. Osienski’s legislation would allow adults 21 and older to purchase and possess up to one ounce of cannabis, while home cultivation would not be permitted. The bill contains ten amendments between Osienski himself, and Republican lawmakers. Some amendments target removing the social equity fund, removing protections for cannabis users at work and also improving child safety. There was no further mention on when the bill will actually be submitted. But there are only 8 days remaining within this year’s session to submit through House and Senate.
