‘Insecure’ Is Officially Ending After Season 5

HBO’s hit show Insecure will end after the upcoming season five.

Issa Rae talked about the ending of the show on Twitter, saying, “Very excited to film our fifth and final season! We couldn’t have told a complete story without the tremendous support of our audience and the faith of @HBO. See y’all soon!”

Per Deadline, the last season is about to go into production and will likely air later in 2021.

In a statement, producer Prentice Penny says that doing five seasons was always the plan. She said, “We always planned to tell this story through five seasons, but we couldn’t have made it this far without the tremendous support of our audience.”

She lastly added, “I feel blessed beyond measure to bring our characters’ stories to an end, on-screen at least.”
