Singer-songwriter Jimmy Buffett stopped by Chesapeake City last weekend to grab a bite to eat. Customer’s dining out at The Chesapeake Inn Restaurant and Marina got quite a surprise when they saw Buffett’s boat.
The visit was kept mostly secret, per Buffett’s request, but rumors had already spread when many people spotted his 42-foot catamaran just outside of town.
Gianmarco Martuscelli, owner of The Chesapeake Inn, told Delaware Online that he was notified a few days before that Buffett would be arriving. Buffett made sure to follow COVID-19 safety precautions and apparently had ordered sushi, brick oven pizza, and crab bisque.
The visit was documented on Buffett’s Instagram account. He even posed for a photo on the deck of the marina and accepted a few souvenirs from the Chesapeake Inn gift shop.
