DE Department Of State Warns ‘Face Mask Exempt Cards’ are Fake
Multiple government agencies are warning of a fake card that some people are using to avoid wearing a mask. The Delaware Department of State says it received reports from business owners about the card. It claims to be from the “Freedom to Breathe Agency,” which is not a government agency. The Federal Department of Justice also issued an alert about the card, saying it was an unsanctioned use of the department’s seal. “The department urges the public not to rely on the information contained in these postings.” Visit ADA.gov to view information issued by the department. Although there are some legitimate medical exemptions, many Delaware businesses require that customers wear masks.
