Starbucks Set To Reopen 85 Percent Of Their US Stores, But With New Protocols
Starbucks has announced that it is about to re-open 85 percent of its locations by the end of the week. Ninety percent of the stores are expected to be open by early June.
In a letter to customers, Starbucks CEO Kevin Johnson said, “As so many in our family of partners come back this week, responsibly re-opening stores across the United States, we are poised to adapt very rapidly, in meaningful ways that enhance the Starbucks Experience for our partners, customers, and the communities we serve. We are accelerating many forward-looking initiatives to address the realities of the current situation. We do this to provide a safe, familiar and convenient experience for our customers.”
Some of the protocols the brand will put in place include: having a heightened emphasis on cleaning and sanitizing, focusing on mobile ordering for contactless pick-up, delivery, curbside pickup, and grab-and-go through the cafés and also shifting toward more cashless experiences and having the mobile app be the dominant form of payment.
