You Wont Believe Some Of The New Tech Products From CES 2018
CES is one of the biggest tech-unveilings you can dive into each year.
This year, everything is challenging the status quo, from Alexa-enabled appliances to wireless charging, to all the different TVs that will be coming to market in the next few years.
See a few of our favorites below:
Alexa-Enabled, App-Enabled Products From Whirlpool
Do you want to turn your microwave on with Alexa? Your fridge? Your oven? Well, using that and Yummly App, we can even create food based on WHAT is in your fridge. Once you start cooking, the app will help by prompting you to turn your oven on, and it will turn off when your food is done, slips it into warm mode, or shuts it off completely. You will receive push notifications when your stuff is done. The “smart home” will be the next biggest thing but will run you a pretty penny to do so.
Rollable OLED Screen
LG’s got a new OLED which is going to be rollable! Inside the box is a high-quality 4K TV, and right now there are no talks to sell to the general public, but if you were Tony Stark, perhaps, this would be one step down from what you’ve got in your home. You can roll it up about a quarter and see calendar details and weather, or roll it out all the way to watch a program.
Powerspot Transmitter
A power block that can transmit up to 80 feet away (24 meters wirelessly), and is meant to charge overnight, and with zero wires. It’s going to only be $50, which is honestly super affordable! Look for it in the Fall of 2018.
Samsung 146-inch MicroLED 4K TV
Did you ever see ‘The Hunger Games’ where Katniss was able to watch a screen wall of the forest? Well, that’s about to be a reality. This TV is 146-inches, and currently in 4K. Samsung is working on getting an 8K TV on the lines as well – which will drastically change the way we view films, but that won’t be coming for a few years at least.
Blade Shadow PC
People actually still use desktops? Yes, they do! And this one is going to be super cool. According to Arstechnia, “Using it connects you to eight dedicated Intel Xeon server processor threads and grants you 12GB of RAM. Blade promises 144fps at 1080p, or 60fps at 4K. And the Shadow PC works surprisingly well. In the US, it’s at first only going to be available in the state of California, where the company’s first North American servers are located.” While that may not strike your fancy, look at this price point: $139 for the PC, or you can rent it for $9.95 a month, and then there’s also a service contract of $34.95 to $45.95 per month. It’s set up for gamers mainly, so no, it’s not going to be a new set up for people at work.
