The 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics are upon us, and while we may not see athletes from Delaware on Team USA this year, there are several coming from Pennsylvania and New Jersey. So, we thought why not cheer them on?
This year’s Team USA is composed of 223 Americans, ready to compete across 109 events. This is the second-largest Team USA in any Winter Olympic Games, falling only behind the 228 athletes in Pyeongchang in 2018.
Pennsylvania has three athletes on Team USA, and New Jersey has four. In comparison, the states with the most athletes in Beijing are California, with 29, Colorado and Minnesota with 23, Utah with 16, Illinois with 13 and Wisconsin with 12.
In addition to Delaware, here is a full list of other states without representation on Team USA, Alabama, Arkansas, Washington D.C., Hawaii, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Tennessee and West Virginia.
So, without further ado let’s take a look at the members of Team USA coming out of our neighboring states of Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
