Anson Mount attends the Paramount+'s "Star Trek: Strange New Worlds" Season 1 New York Premiere at AMC Lincoln Square Theater on April 30, 2022 in New York City./ Moses Ingram attends the photocall for the new Disney+ limited series "Obi Wan Kenobi" at the Corinthia Hotel on May 12, 2022 in London, England.

Moses Ingram is one of the newest cast members of the Star Wars universe; she plays Reva Sevander, aka the “Third Sister” who is hunting Obi-Wan Kenobi (Ewan McGregor) for Darth Vader in the new Disney+ series Obi-Wan. Last week, as the series premiered, Ingram received a number of racist messages on social media (you can see some of them here). Her co-star McGregor posted a video message to the official Star Wars social media accounts in support of Moses and condemned the racist “fans.”

Soon after, Anson Mount, who plays Captain Christopher Pike on the new Paramount+ Star Trek series, Strange New Worlds, posted his own message on his social accounts. He re-grammed a photo of Ingram and wrote, “This is Moses Ingram. She is a singular talent and a recent addition to the Star Wars universe. She has also been targeted by racists pretending to be fans because her mere existence threatens a skewed, dystopian fantasy that selectively omits the likes of @therealbillydee and others. We, the Trek Family, have her back.”

Kate Mulgrew, who played Captain Janeway on Star Trek: Voyager from 1995 – 2001 (and reprises the role, sort of, on the animated Nickelodeon show Star Trek: Prodigy), commented, “A wonderful post – the captains have your back, Moses!” Lots of fans on Twitter echoed Mount’s comments; check some of them out below.
