When choosing a car, one of the most important factors should always be safety. So, you’ll want to know about the most dangerous car brands.
Car accidents account for tens of thousands of deaths each year. In 2022 alone, the US saw 42,795 fatalities from car accidents, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. While some accidents can’t be avoided, some can, and all precautions should be taken to do so.
The crew over at Glass Doctor conducted a recent study to determine the most dangerous and safest cars in each state. Crash data from UHTSA over the last decade was reviewed to find the most and least safe car brands.
It was determined that the safest brand of car in the United States is Audi with .54 fatal crashes per 1,000 drivers in the time period researched. Subaru and Mercedes-Benz weren’t too far off the mark, at 2 and 3 for safest.
The least safe brand in the US is Dodge, with 4.03 fatal crashes per 1,000 drivers. In your day-to-day travels, you’re bound to see more Dodge models out on the road, so this plays into the numbers as well.
