As if owning a car isn’t already expensive enough. Between routine maintenance and wear and tear from driving on our pot-hole ridden roads, car owners put out enough money without Delaware Car Insurance being another financial worry.

New research has revealed Delaware residents are paying more for car insurance than most states in the US.

Delaware Car Insurance Cost

Delaware drivers pay $2,137.00 annually according to a study by FINN.

A new study by these car subscription providers has analyzed car insurance premiums across America. The results show the states with the biggest increases and decreases in annual costs since 2013.

Delaware being such a small state with a high population density means more accidents and higher repair costs pushing up premiums. This is adding to the issue.

In addition, with parts of Delaware being on a coastline this puts drivers at risk for natural disasters. This also increases premiums due to Delaware drivers being at risk for more severe weather that may cause accidents.

However, surprisingly New Jersey was not listed as one of the top 10 states for highest car insurance premiums. Despite also being a state with many coastal drivers, this did not seem to affect the data.
