With a head advisory in effect until 8pm Sunday evening, we’ve compiled a list of water parks in Delaware to beat the heat this weekend.
This weekend, temps could reach up to 105 in certain areas. This kind of weather could create hazardous conditions for some. But if you’re looking to get out of the house and enjoy some time near some water, below are a few ways you can do just that.
Aside from making sure you stay hydrated and lathered up with sunscreen, keep your pets safe and avoid walks in the middle of the day. Hot temperatures mean hot asphalt and you could burn your poor pups paw pads. Aim for early morning or late evening if walking the dog.
Aside from that, if you’re aiming to have fun in the sun, do it at one of these prime water-time locations!
Killens Pond Water Park in Felton, DE
Located at 5025 Killens Pond Road, they offer two sessions for the park. Session 1 is 9:30-1:30 and Session 2 is 2:00- 6:00pm. You can stay for the day but you must purchase tickets for both sessions and you will have to vacate from 1:30-2 to allow for clean-up and preparation for the next session.The waterpark is open through Labor Day and entrance fees start at $6.

Jungle Jims in Rehoboth Beach, DE

At 36944 Country Club Road, Jungle Jims offers not only a water park, but mini golf, batting cages and more. Open from 10am-6pm daily (weather permitting), they are known as Delaware’s Largest Water Park!

Viking Golf and Go-Karts in Fenwick Island, DE
Located at 38965 Island St, this is just seconds north of Ocean City, Maryland for anyone who lives a little further south.They have one of the most challenging 18-hole mini golf courses, a go-kart track and Thunder Lagoon Waterpark. They also offer a boardwalk with pizza, burgers, beach fries, funnel cakes and ice cream. You really feel like you’re at the beach and it’s all contained on one property.
