As we gear up to raise money for Nemours Children’s Hospital, we’ve had some fun events planned this year with some great local partners. Our Help Our Kids Radiothon is right around the corner and the WJBR Staff Guest Bartended for Nemours at two different spots last week.
On Wednesday, September 7th Cork & Barrel in Pike Creek welcomed us with open arms. We joined the staff behind the bar, chatted with listeners and patrons, and had a ton of fun. Food was provided by Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza and the drinks were goin’ down smooth!
We would like to extend a huge thank you to everyone who made the event a success. Whether you purchased raffle tickets or just came in for a drink, we appreciate all that you do. Support from our loyal listeners and community members is what makes our time off the air so much fun.
Who was there?
Deanna & Justin, Hollywood Kyle and girlfriend Grace (Miss Delaware), EJ and Chris Leonard all hopped behind that bar at some point throughout the night. With the help of the Cork & Barrel team we were able to sell a ton of raffle tickets for some amazing prizes.
We ended up raising $1599.00 that night for Nemours. What a great kickoff to our Help Our Kids Radiothon!
Night # 2!
We closed out our week on Friday night at Carriage House on the property of University and Whist Club. The evening couldn’t have been more perfect. We had amazing food from the Plum Pit Food Truck, live music and so much support.
Mike Rossi joined the team behind the bar along with the rest of the WJBR staff from Wednesday. We had the chance to speak with so many people, talk to them about our mission to help Nemours and hopefully gain some new listeners!
It was a beautiful evening and we ended up walking away with over $1,000 in donations for Nemours.
Needless to say, these events were a success and we could not have done it without all who attended. Thank you so much for the support so far. We are so hyped for what the rest of this and next week will bring as we continue to fund raise for our Help Our Kids Radiothon!
