Nothing says “Cinco de Mayo” like a margarita in the middle of a work day. That’s why we’re out and about! Come along for the ride as WJBR Celebrates Cinco De Mayo At The Mexican Post!
We put the computers away (kinda), postponed the paperwork, and cracked open the mics at the Mexican Post in Wilmington. The location on 3100 Naamans Road is home to the Shoppes at Naamans so there is plenty of parking if you decide last minute to come down and join us.
In all seriousness, Cinco de Mayo is a yearly celebration held on May 5, which commemorates the anniversary of Mexico’s victory over the Second French Empire at the Battle of Puebla in 1862. Events tied to Cinco de Mayo also occur outside Mexico and the United States. As in the United States, celebrations elsewhere also emphasize Mexican cuisine, culture and music, according to Wikipedia.
It seems as though Cinco is celebrated all around the world!
Even if you’re not a fan of tequila, you can appreciate the cuisine and the celebration of a moment in history that was a turning point for a whole nation of people.
The staff at WJBR is set up at the Mexican Post ready to have a good time with you. Should you find yourself in need of a good margarita, some enchiladas or just a good time with friends; join us!
Mike Rossi is LIVE from 10-2 and Deanna and Justin In The Morning have stopped by for lunch.
We hope to see your smiling faces and if we miss you, be safe and Happy Cinco!
