Peeps Are Taking Over Peddler’s Village
Just when you thought Peeps were only good for blowing up in the microwave…
Peddler’s Village delights Bucks County during the holiday season with its Christmas Lights, decorations, events and family fun.
They’re taking on Easter once again with their PEEPS® display, creations submitted by locals.
This spring, Peddler’s Village presented their 4th Annual PEEPS in the Village. The creations will be on display through Sunday, April 23. The colorful display will include more than 100 creations of wall art, dioramas, and sculpture. They will be featuring the popular Pennsylvania-made bunnies and chicks, and carefully handmade and contributed by Philly-area residents and organizations.
Matthew Penge from Warminster and his daughter Isabella are big Addams Family fans. They loved watching the Netflix series Wednesday.
This is where they got their inspiration for their submission into the PEEPS display. They used the cover image for the series and built their creation around that. “I wanted to be different, and not your normal Easter festive thing…something for people to look at and talk about but still making it creative and fun”, Penge said.
Peddler’s Village encouraged folks to create a PEEPS masterpiece. They were told to glue, mold, and manipulate chicks, bunnies and other peeps shapes to bring their vision to life.
They would then submit their creation under one of three categories:2-D Wall Art, Diorama, and Sculpture. All members of the public were invited to participate in the competition.
It’s not just for the bragging rights. Winners would receive monetary prizes! There is a $200 grand prize for first place all the way down to 5th and 2 $25 honorable mentions.
You can view the collection in person through April 23rd, view on their website and check out some of them below!
