Various mail carriers spoke up about the different things they wish their customers did more of, or what they appreciated, or what someone should do less of. The advice comes from actual mail carriers. Postal workers often are under pressure and held the most accountable, even if something is completely out of their hands to deal with. Rain, snow, sleet, summer heat, the weather doesn't matter, the mail still needs to be delivered. Without the post office, those gifts wouldn't get delivered, or those bills wouldn't get paid. Sometimes, the small gestures are what matters the most to say thank you to our postal workers.

One postal worker said they would play Tic Tac Toe with the children of a home. They left a paper under their mailbox and they would play just one move a day.
Answer the Door Wearing All Your Clothes

Please dress yourself if you're going to answer the door. These are people too.

Some may be allergic or just afraid of dogs. Not everyone is a dog-friendly person, or have time to stop and handle your dog running out.

Mow the weeds down around the mailbox and clear the path to wherever your mail is going.

Nothing says thank you like a child drawing a picture of the mailman and leaving it for them.

Just simply say hi and ask how they're doing. They're like your neighbor and you see them everyday.

Especially if your mailbox is by others' mailboxes.

In areas where it snows, make sure you're clearing both the sidewalks and the driveway.
