The Delaware Valley Opera company is delighted to present this double bill for children of all ages. The show begins with the beloved 1940’s “The Little Red Lighthouse and the Great Gray Bridge” springing to life onstage with Philadelphia composer Misha Dutka’s engaging score. Then Little Red and the Wolf race to Grandma’s house in Cesar Cui’s Russian version of “Little Red Riding Hood” with a new translation made especially for this production by Misha Dutka. Tales teaching self-worth and forgiveness, a wolf and a lighthouse each find new friends and their places in the world.
To add to the fun, there will be a costume contest with prizes, and after the show, a chance to meet the characters. Refreshments will be sold. There is paid parking. If you plan to use the lot, it’s best to come a half hour early as the process is slow. The building is handicapped accessible. Audio assistive headphones are available. Tickets are $10 for kids 12 and under; $20 for members, seniors, students; $25 for adults. Group rates are available. For further information, please call (215) 725-4171 or visit dvOPERA.org
