Join Johnny B, October 16, 2021 from 9:30am-11:30am for Paws For People’s Wag & Walkathon at Glasgow Park.

The Wag & Walkathon is PAWS for People’s largest fundraising event of the year and this year we are excited to be partnering with The National Dog Show and its host, The Kennel Club of Philadelphia!

From September 16th – October 16th, Wag & Walkathon participants have been tracking their miles with the goal to complete at marathon (26.2 miles) in 30 days.

PAWS for People will host a Cross the Finish Line event for Wag & Walkathon participants, and we are inviting everyone to come out and join in the festivities

The event will include doggie games & contests, children’s activities, vendors, and food. All licensed, well-mannered dogs are welcome to attend.

The theme for this year’s event is Fairy Tails – Living Happily Ever After COVID which expresses our hope for the future as we return to in-person, life-changing pet therapy programs in a world where the need is greater than ever before.  The event will include a Fairy Tail themed costume contests for individuals & groups and a costume parade.

PAWS for People is the Mid-Atlantic’s largest provider of pet therapy programs

PAWS volunteers provide individualized pet therapy visits with their gentle, affectionate dogs, cats and rabbits to over 200 sites in Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey & Pennsylvania.

If you are interested in learning about pet therapy work, this is a great opportunity to come and pet some pet therapy teams and learn about PAWS for People.

Whether it be helping an individual with autism learn new social skills, encouraging a child during physical therapy, comforting a hospice patient, distracting someone during chemotherapy treatment, motivating a struggling reader or providing support to those in stressful situations, a visit from a PAWS therapy team makes a difference.
