Adam Kramer, State Director and Co-Founder of The Green Beret Project, discussed the organization, mentoring youth and offering a positive male influence. He described his own path to a 7-year jail sentence and his realization that his post-prison work with youth already in the legal system wasn’t enough, helping kids before they get into trouble was his real calling. His partner, a former Green Beret and active FBI Agent added his military experience to create a program that emphasises responsibility, teamwork, leadership growth and respect. With staff counselors and coaches, young men and women exercise and play sports, receive homework help and even family emergency support. Whiole they can join a rafting trip or sporting event, they can also find employment, job skills and lessons in office manners in the landscaping and home repair business operated by the group.
